I am thinking of downloading torrents and I have Norton Antivirus (2005 to be specific)

I was wondering if my computer gets a virus will it definitely catch it or is there a chance it might slip through?
I just remembered that I also have McAfee running too. I share this computer with my sister, but it’s mostly hers… so I’m trying to be as safe as possible.

My company provided me with Synmantec Client Security, and i have recently installed SUPERAntiSpyware. Now, will my laptop crash? Because i heard you cannot have two antivirus in the same laptop. Thanks!

Is it a good idea? I heard norton slows down your computer and uses to much resources and it also has a low virus detection rate.

I heard that there is a free older version of Mcafee Antivirus available…can anyone please tell me where can I download from that older version if available? or else the exact version number of that software.
