how can i get rid of the antivirus 2009 from my computer for free?

I was thinking about purchasing webroot spyware for my computer, but theres just so many different types i just dont know where to begin. So to your knowledge, whats the best one out there that i can buy from bestbuy or a different retailer or cable company provider if so.

When installing security software, some say it’s not very convenient to arm your computer with separate programs: one antivirus, one firewall and one or two antispywares. Only one complete security suite program like Kaspersky Internet Security or Avira Premium Security Suite or Norton Internet Security, etc.

I can’t find it, but I can’t install a new program until it is uninstalled. The new program says it is still on my computer but I can’t find it in the list of add/remove programs how do i find it?

i have a laptop with it installed. it was purchased through the prompts and now it is all messed up. i can’t get on the internet, the whole start bar is messed up, and i can’t get rid of it through the control panel. how can i get rid of it without having to buy something or taking it to a professional?

We can only use Windows 98 for our systems. No other OS will
work with our systems. Except for older OS.
We have to use windows 98 OS. I used
the uninstall program in windows ,
and there are still parts of Mcafee left
behind. I want to uninstall all parts of
Mcafee. Windows uninstall is not good
enough.

I have 1.5 gigs of ram and 200 gig hard drive with a Pentium(R) 4 processor. The Geek Squad recommended PC Cillan. I had two friends who work with computers recommend Norton. Nobody recommended McAfee. Is there a good web site to compare these products?

I am specifically concerned about backdoor viruses, trojan horses etc. Softwares MUST have real time protection. Please do not recommend AVG, Avast. Norton Internet Security 2007 wasn’t able to detect a severe backdoor trojan in my system. It was a sasser worm which is very hard to identify remove.

I all of a sudden have a program called Internet anti virus, but it is a virus it self. It’s spamming everything and I cant find it on add and remove programs.. I need detailed steps and/or FREE download to get rid of it. Because my current anti virus program (webroot) can’t find it. Please help before it ruins the whole computer
