or does it act as some sort of firewall or protection if the application is running
I have AVG right now the free version. Anyone know how well that works in the backround? Is it just wasting resources running all the time?

I’d like to run these programs before windows were completely open. I think I could get rid of some infections I’ve got since long by running my security programs this way, and I don’t see better solution than these one. Do you know if this can be done? How?

I’ve downloaded a few free antivirus softwares from www.downloads.com and they all seem to not work very well. I want to scan my PC for everything, all viruses and spyware. Any suggestions?
