How can I detect the problem with my antivirus system?

I have Norton Antivirus installed on my pc, and it expires on 9/16/06. Today it said in the control panel that I had no virus protection and I do scan daily.I want to change to a different antivirus program. Any recommendations?
I want to know how to correct the problem now before I uninstall the program and install a new program.

Try AVG. It’s free and it consumes less resources then Norton… You could also try KAV,NOD32…

I use AVG as well. It’s free does a good job.

Nod32 very good.
When you uninstal norton use the removal tool.
