This isn’t my PC although I’m allowed to do many things on it. I have to ask permission to remove programs. I know norton antivirus (better called virus) is very bad for the PC. However my mum doesn’t get the point. I’ve even shown her experts opinions and she still won’t budge.

How do I persuade?

The PC is dying and I know Norton is one of the things that helps that. It would be much more preferable to use ESET NOD32.

Thanks.

Keitha

Norton is fine now! I don’t know if it is killing your computer, but probably slowing it down. You do have to pay to get new Virus updates. I would just have to wait until then. Tell them to get one that is free!

The subscription is about to expire then remove it and replace with something else.

One thing you could do is just remove and not tell her. Another thing you could do is tell her that Norton Anti Virus doesn’t block viruses. It is just a program that is useless. But I recommend just removing it and installing a anti virus of your choice.

How do I persuade?

You do that by showing your mum respect and let her do what she wants.

Debate it with her ? Pro’s and Cons ….

Point out sites like these , but remember you can lead a horse to water but you cant make them drink …
There really are no Pro’s for Norton’s product in my opinion :)
